Sherry Milner and Ernst Larsen made the first situationist film in America, Disaster (parallel projection with two Super 8 projectors, in 1976) on the wave of French Marxist filmmakers such as Jean-Luc Godard. After more than thirty years of activism in social, engaging, and avant-garde film and video, they made a "remake" of the 1961 situation film Guy Deborah's Critique of Separation, the legendary leader of the 1968 Paris student demonstrations, again on two screens, called PARTIAL Critique of Separation the film premiered at the 2008 Oberhausen Film Festival.
