General Guide to Anything Anyone Might Have or See Anywhere is the encounter of the two projects: Alles was ich habe #3 by Bernhard Herbordt and Melanie Mohren and Desert of Picture by Bojan Djordjev and Siniša Ilić. As a manual to navigate through the lack of any archive or collection, as a performance score for visitors to explore what any picture hides, the General Guide[…] reflects conditions for critical intervention within the regimes of attention.

General Guide[…] (Chapter 1, Novi Sad) combines the working methods of both collaborating teams and develops an artistic platform for site-specific interventions. The presentation of the first chapter is conducted in three interwoven segments. It is an installation as a walk-in publication, displaying possible versions of the General Guide[…], an online document with performance instructions, accessible to download, and, while implementing those propositions, the city as a pre-designed set to perform (or imagine) public interventions. All three parts communicate with each other through ephemeral layers of memory, (fictional) documentations, and a non-linear, time-accumulating narration – invented and carried out by the visitor him- or herself. Each visitor might edit his own exhibition, book, and play.

General Guide to Anything Anyone Might Have or See Anywhere will be presented at the SULUV Gallery (Bulevar Mihajla Pupina 9, Novi Sad) from 21-23.01.11. and in parts at Matica Srpska Gallery (Trg Galerija 1, Novi Sad) on 21-22.01.11.
