The first workshop in 2023 focused on imporovization, the collective process of creation and experiment within the framework of the NOISM program, will be held from March 16 to 19 in Novi Sad. The guest musician is saxophonist Gianni Gebbia from Palermo; and with him, in an intensive work creative process, they will create together: Daniel More, double bass, electronics; Nemanja Tasić, drums, percussion; Ilja Belorukov, alto sax, electronics.
By creating a sound piece at the moment, through a focus on improvisation, these sessions of creative work are aimed at deepening the interaction between artists of different generations and research approaches, and the sound spectrum in the combination of instruments of this group of artists.
The public performance and presentation of the workshop will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 19h in cooperation with the Zenit Bookstore-club, Njegoševa 24, Novi Sad.

Gianni Gebbia
Composer, saxophone player.
Born in Palermo 5/1/1961, Selftaught on saxophone, he moved in 1979 to New York City where has been in contact ith the so called Downtown Loft Scene and No wave. Back to Europe he has started his professional activity as soloist and he started to be considered one of the most interesting solo improvisors and specialists of the circular breathing tecnique on saxophone.
In 1990 he won the first price as Best Jazz Talent by the italian magazine Music Jazz. Gianni Gebbia has produced around 40 recordings under his name for various music labels and partecipated in most of the maior festivals of contemporary jazz in Europe, Usa and Japan. Gianni Gebbia has collaborated with artists like: Louis Sclavis, Peter Kowald, Han Bennink, Henri Kaiser, Fred Frith, Jim O’Rourke and currently collaborating with the German composer and music theatre director Heiner Goebbels. https://sites.google.com/site/giannigebbia/
